Pandemic offers newfound time and opportunity for Brigitte Pace
New single Sad Eyes set for release on February 5th
Across more than three decades within music circles, Brigitte Pace has just about seen and heard it all. There has been a record deal, national radio airplay and tour dates, coupled with a subsequent split from management and countless rejection letters.
Nevertheless, throughout all these ups and downs, one thing has remained constant: Pace’s love for music.
“I’m still performing because I love it and it’s my passion,” said Pace. “I really enjoy being on stage and writing my own music.”
Pace remembers putting on small shows for family and friends during holidays and gatherings in her hometown of Mile End. She also thinks back fondly on the standing ovation she received at her first school variety show, which gave her “the bug” for performing.
At only 15, Pace moved out of her childhood home with her sister and shortly thereafter, began playing local bars with musician friends of hers. To make ends meet, Pace also started working part-time, cutting hair at Le Pascha barbershop in Montreal. Little did she know that this would lead to a life-altering opportunity with a local record producer.
